Obligatory equipment

OBLIGATORY EQUIPMENT

Each team in Oslo Bergen Trail must carry:


  • Minimum 1 GPS-unit for navigation, type handhold unit, sports watch, or similar
  • 1 paper map and 1 physical compass
  • 2 GPS trackers, received from the organizer
  • 1 windsack (bivouac) or 1 tent. The sack/tent must be sized to accommodate the whole team (2 or 3 persons)
  • 1 first aid kit. As a minimum, it must contain 
    • 1 standard elastic bandage (200cm x 5cm)
    • 1 self-adhesive elastic bandage (100cm x 5cm)
    • Chafing adhesive plaster
    • Hydrocortisone ointment
    • Wound ointment (e.g., Brulidine, Bacimycin)
    • Small knife/scissors


Each team member must carry:


  • Backpack
  • Wind- and water-proof jacket with hood:
    • minimum watercolumn value 10000 (Schmerber)
    • seams must be sealed
  • Wind- and water-proof long trousers:
    • minimum watercolumn value 10000 (Schmerber)
    • seams must be sealed
  • Warm cap, wool
  • Buff or scarf, wool
  • Wind- and water-proof gloves or mittens
  • Warm midlayer top, type bubble jacket
  • Wool midlayer top, with long sleeves, at least 180 grams
  • Wool longs baselayer
  • Long-legged trousers or race leggings OR a combination of leggings and socks to cover the legs completely
  • Wool socks
  • Solid shoes with good grip on trails and in the terrain
  • 2 well-functioning headlamps, and spare batteries for both lamps
  • Sleeping bag liner
  • Mobile phone
  • Power bank with capacity of at least 10000mAh
  • Drink reservoir with a total volume of minimum 1 litre
  • Survival blanket, minimum size 1.40m x 2m
  • Food
  • Drink
  • Cup, volume of at least 2dl
  • Sunscreen
  • A payment card


All obligatory equipment must be carried all the way from start to finish.
